It’s not often The Royal Society for the Blind (RSB) Guide Dog Service encourages people to take an extra-long lunch – but this one is for a good cause.

The RSB is part of the Longest Lamington Lunch, and is urging South Australians to get involved with the Guinness World Record attempt.

Hosted by the Adelaide Convention Centre, the Longest Lamington Lunch will see a lamington five times the length of Adelaide Oval wind its way through the new West Building in an attempt to set the record for the world’s longest line of cake.

Proceeds from tickets sold through the RSB will support the RSB Guide Dog Service, which is expecting 2015 to be its busiest year to date.

RSB Guide Dog Service Manager Chris Muldoon says the Longest Lamington Lunch is a once in a life time opportunity to take the lead and support the RSB Guide Dog Service.

Tickets from RSB are $60 and include a two course lunch and lamington dessert plus beer, wine and champagne.

The Longest Lamington Lunch is just one of the event’s at Adelaide Convention Centre’s Open House; a week long program of events to celebrate the much anticipated launch of Adelaide Convention Centre’s new West Building.
