Fringe Review: Sam Simmons Spaghetti For Breakfast

Sam is a random guy with a kind of awkwardness to his stage presence who kept us laughing for the duration of his hour-long show.

Walking into the Garden of Unearthly Delights last night automatically put me into a great mood. The atmosphere is electric with people buzzing from show to show and lapping up everything that is the Adelaide Fringe Festival.

Sam Simmons was the comedian of choice and I wasn’t quite sure what to expect for his Spaghetti for Breakfast Fringe show. Not knowing a lot about him and never seeing him live previously, I walked in hoping to enjoy the next hour.

Enjoy I did. Sam is a random guy with a kind of awkwardness to his stage presence. With a show that includes so many non related topics, its hard to guess where the show will go next, but the way he combines comedy, music and food in a slightly crude and rude way shows his skills as a seasoned performer as well as showing some of his underlining mummy issues!

My cheeks hurt from smiling and my sides hurt from laughing throughout the majority of the 1-hour show. Sam specifically asked that reviewers in the audience didn’t to give too much away about the show, but if you’re someone who likes to have a good laugh, you’re not too worried about being politically correct and you don’t mind a few swear words here and there, then make sure you go and see this show. You won’t be disappointed.
