The winners of the 2014 Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering SA Awards for Excellence were named at a gala dinner at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide this week.

South Australia’s ‘best of the best’ were honoured for their outstanding contribution to the hospitality industry in front of 1100 dignitaries and guests, including the Hon John Rau, MP, Deputy Premier, Steven Marshall, MP Leader of the Opposition, David Ridgeway, MLC Shadow Minister for Tourism, Food and Wine, Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood and the Lady Mayoress, and Rachel Sanderson, State Member for Adelaide at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

Restaurant & Catering SA Chief Executive Officer Sally Neville said this year’s ceremony reflected the high standard of hospitality operators in the state.

“The winners are to be congratulated for their professionalism and hard work, servicing locals as well as interstate and overseas visitors,” Ms Neville said.

“It’s great to see many of our awards going to venues in the regions, demonstrating the high quality of our premium food and wine experiences,” she said.

Establishments that enter the Awards for Excellence are judged by a team of trained judges, who anonymously visit various venues over a three month period.

Judges refer to the R&CSA specific selection criteria, which includes the quality of food and presentation, facilities and value for money when marking and deciding a winner.

Many of these winners will now compete against other state winners at the national Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering HOSTPLUS Awards for Excellence to be held in Melbourne in October.
