Today invited Adelaide guests and media attended the launch of Torrens University Australia and the inaugural address in Adelaide by the Honorary Chancellor of Laureate International Universities President Bill Clinton. Held at the Adelaide Festival Centre amidst tight security, the event saw Bill Clinton discussing the future of global education.

Ms Linda Brown, CEO Laureate Australia, also discussed higher education, with a focus on Laureate International Universities’ Australian based education portfolio and its commitment to raise new benchmarks in the higher education sector through ongoing innovation in program content and new delivery platforms.

Mr Michael Mann, AM, Chancellor of Torrens University Australia, spoke to the invited audience about Torrens University Australia’s inaugural year and unique student-centric offering – delivering flexible, career-focused undergraduate and postgraduate programs utilising industry-leading learning technologies.

Torrens University Australia is Laureate International Universities’ first comprehensive Australian university, complementing Laureate’s portfolio of Australian-based teaching institutions, including the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School and THINK Education.

In his role as Honorary Chancellor, President Clinton advises Laureate on social responsibility, youth leadership and increasing access to higher education. He has spoken to tens of thousands of students and academic staff at Laureate International Universities worldwide – however today is the first time he has had the opportunity to address students and academic staff from Laureate’s Australian-based institutions.
