Glam Adelaide was lucky enough to be invited to the Concept Launch of a very cool idea that we hope to see come into fruition. ArtBox is an exciting new performance venue concept for regional and metropolitan South Australia.

Held at The Mill, the very trendy gallery space in the city on Thursday August 13, it was the perfect spot for guests to hear about this fantastic idea, and also to see the design ideas.

The idea, brought forward by not-for-profit organisation ArtSembly, is seeking to create a flexible, mobile and affordable event venue that will help contribute to the development of the arts as well as to support local community vibrancy.

ArtBox will hopefully be an iconic and sculptural piece of temporary architecture that will be designed to include a foyer, an auditorium with seating for 15-200 people, lighting, projection, graphics… Basically everything you would expect from any performance venue. Only this one moves around! How cool.

This idea is still in concept stage and with a business plan under preparation.

If you would like more information on this fantastic initiative, check out the ArtBox website.
