One Of Adelaide’s Own Is Set To Take The Fringe By Storm

We won’t lie, the Adelaide Fringe is one of the hottest events in our calendar. We love everything about it! From the garden to the shows, it just has the coolest vibe. So when we hear that a good ol’ South Aussie is bringing her hit show back home for the huge event, we obviously had to share the news…

She played to sold-out houses and rave reviews across Australia, New York and Edinburgh with her multi award winning show “A Storm in a D Cup” – now Adelaide’s own cabaret queen Amelia Ryan returns to the stage with her sexy new show: Amelia Ryan is Lady Liberty.

In a brand new hour of entertainment, Ryan takes us on her personal quest to transform from “Queen of Calamity” to “Lady of Liberty” through her signature blend of scintillating stories, pop music mash-ups and perfectly pitched parodies with a distinctly feminist edge.

Lady Liberty sees Ryan trapped in her own personal purgatory, somewhere between the life she longs to lead (content, calm and maybe even classy) and the life she’s left behind (a daily dalliance with disaster). This girl – er, lady – wants liberation. But how to achieve it? From meditation to Moet (many, many bottles of Moet), from love to labiaplasty and monogamy to menage-a-trois, she sets on a course of comedy, cabaret and confession to find out.

With her witty takes on hit songs by Cyndi Lauper and Robin Thicke to Gilbert & Sullivan, and highly personal stories told with razor sharp humour and heart-warming honesty, Amelia Ryan is Lady Liberty is a riotous, risque, real look at what is it to be a modern, liberated woman.

The show runs from February 29 to March 13 at The Factory in the Garden of Unearthly Delights. Tickets are now on sale via Fringetix at or phone 1300 621 255 or visit
