Atanas Botev
Karl Unterfrauner, Stamford Hotels Area GM and VP Operations is pleased to announce the appointment of highly experienced hotelier Atanas Botev to the role of General Manager, Stamford Plaza Adelaide.
London and Oxford University educated, Atanas has spent the major percentage of his career in London enjoying a successful hospitality career that saw him elevated to General Manager status within a few years of graduating university.
Immediately prior to relocating to Adelaide, he held management positions at London’s iconic 5 star May Fair Hotel with 404 rooms, cinema and casino where he oversaw preparation and execution of the hotel’s Olympics strategy.
Previous to the May Fair, Atanas, as General Manager of the 5 star Radisson Blu Hampshire Hotel and 4 star boutique Radisson Blu Leicester Square Hotel oversaw renovation works and market repositioning of the two properties – an experience that puts him in great stead to oversee the final stages of the refurbishment and market repositioning of the Stamford Plaza Adelaide.
Phase 2 of the Stamford Plaza refurbishment includes a further $120k to be spent on the completion of the lobby as well as an entire new hotel entrance and $700k driveway renovation and completion of the room upgrades.
Phase three will then see the introduction of three new food and beverage concepts that are currently under development.
Mr Botev moved to Adelaide with his wife and two children.
