There’s a name you need to keep an eye out for from country SA that has reimagined the class and sophistication of the Victorian era of clothing for the modern day.
When she was only 18, Tori-Anne Gill started designing clothes on a farm in Mundoora and recently she’s been blowing the Adelaide Fashion Industry away with her label, Dark Thorn Clothing.
Her modern twists remove the restrictive nature of Victorian corsets and hooped skirts that every woman is glad was left behind, but retains the stylistic structure, with flowing floor length dresses and knee-high, form-fitting outfits. But it’s her attention to detail that makes Gill’s designs really stand out in Glam’s eyes, with soft lace trimmings, intricate embroidery and textured fabrics adding distinct touches that you won’t find anywhere else.
Her next showcase is at the Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Festival on October 29th, alongside a night of Mexican inspire food, drinks and entertainment. Grab your tickets now from here.
If you can’t wait till then, though check out the Dark Thorn Clothing range via their website.
