Thousands of mums and families will be getting together this Sunday for Australia’s biggest Mother’s Day event – the Women in Super Mother’s Day Classic. The event is the country’s largest fun run for breast cancer research attracting over 130,000 people walking and running the circuit in a record 104 locations around Australia.

This year the event will pass $25 million raised for breast cancer research, thanks to the mums of Australia and their families/friends who forgo a Mother’s Day sleep-in for a good cause.

The Women in Super Mother’s Day Classic is the biggest single donor to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

47 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each day and 1 in 8 Australian women will get the disease in their lifetime. In the 18 years of the Mother’s Day Classic, 5 year survival rates have increased to 89%. Research is absolutely the key.

It doesn’t matter if you walk or run, it matters why – walk or run for breast cancer research.
