Mega Babe Jennifer Hawkins Joins Adelaide Fashion Festival 2017

Australian style icon Jennifer Hawkins will be walking the runway for Adelaide Fashion Festival presented by Mercedes-Benz Adelaide.

Australian style icon Jennifer Hawkins will join the 2017 Adelaide Fashion Festival presented by Mercedes-Benz Adelaide, walking the runway for new event partner Myer.

The Face of Myer Jennifer Hawkins has led trends and runways across the country for more than a decade and is a proud supporter of Australian fashion brands, including Adelaide-based label Acler.

During the Adelaide Fashion Festival (AFF) Myer will hold a ticketed in store parade on Friday 13 October, with additional activities in store. AFF will be held from October 11-15, 2017.

AFF creative director Chris Kontos said the partnership between the festival and leading national retailer Myer was a huge coup for Adelaide.

“The Adelaide Fashion Festival is being seen as a big fashion event within the national calendar, and having Jennifer Hawkins on the runway will only cement this further,” he said.

“We are so excited to partner with Myer who are building their contemporary range and to see Adelaide brand Acler have a strong presence within Myer is fantastic exposure for our local fashion industry.

“This relationship reinforces Adelaide’s relevance in the retail and design industries and we are always looking to build on that.”

Myer Adelaide City Store Manager Peter Figg is excited to be partnering with the Adelaide Fashion Festival for the first time and having Jennifer attend to take part in the festival activities.

“(Adelaide Fashion Festival) has continued to grow in stature and popularity and we are delighted to bring the Myer brand on board in 2017 and have the opportunity to showcase the very best in Australian designer fashion to our Myer customers and the South Australian public,” Mr Figg said.

“We are also excited to announce that the Face of Myer, Jennifer Hawkins, will travel to Adelaide to take part in the festival and appear instore at Myer Adelaide on Friday 13th October.

“As part of the festival, Myer Adelaide will host a premium shopping event for our valued customers with an instore runway show featuring the latest summer collections across men’s and womenswear, designer appearances, DJs and activations and of course have the chance to meet Jennifer.

“We know the Adelaide fashion loving public will be excited to join us instore for a great evening of fashion and entertainment.”

Acler launched its Resort 18 collection in Sydney on Tuesday, showcasing feminine designs that celebrate a modern renaissance mood.

Featuring a fresh colour palette of tonal nudes, white, champagne and blues and fabrication incorporating lace, linen, cut-out embellished cottons, silk satins and moulded suiting. The designs epitomised the sculptural style designers Kathryn Forth and Julia Ritorto have established for Acler from the beginning.

“Acler is absolutely a brand on the rise and this new Resort collection shows their commitment to their vision and their confidence in who the Acler woman is,” Kontos said.

Acler will also be part of the Adelaide Fashion Festival program, due for release later this year.

The Adelaide Fashion Festival is a celebration of innovative South Australian design and style. AFF is South Australia’s premier fashion festival, established and nurtured by the City of Norwood, Payneham and St Peters until 2015 when the South Australian Government took on ownership and management via Events South Australia, the state’s major events arm.
