Media To Exact Revenge Vs Musicians For Charity At 2016 Reclink Cup

The Adelaide Reclink Community Cup returns for it’s second year pitting local Musicians against infamous media personalities in an AFL match full of heart, which are more important than skills.

It’s been under 12 months since the Adelaide Reclink Cup made its debut in Adelaide; an incredibly worthy sporting competition between two teams of gladiatorial legends all in support of an organisation who are trying to enhance the lives of people experiencing disadvantage or facing significant barriers to participation.

All across the country famous musicians and infamous local media squared off in the name of the Reclink cause, sharing a sacred bond built upon football, fumbles, hilarity and friendship. Puffing and panting through what will be one of the most un-athletic football matches ever again this year, the Reclink Community Cup endeavours to bring together the local community for a day of laughs, drinks, community spirit and fundraising.

Last year, it would be fair to say that the only thing that kept the Anchors (media) in the game was some strategic officiating from Graham Cornes. The musicians (Rockatoos) well and truly had the wood over their opponents, but this year, the gauntlet is being laid down. Glam Adelaide, as well as our fellow media outlets, will be better prepared. Our individual players have been subjected to an excruciating training regime of consecutive Rocky montages, combined with countless protein shakes, a couple of push ups and the motivational speech from Braveheart. We will be bringing the thunder for the pleasure of the viewing public.

In 2015 the Adelaide Reclink Community Cup raised over $16,000 as some of South Australia’s biggest names came out to play, including SA music heavy weights Bad//Dreems, AFL great Graham Cornes, radio personalities Amos Gill and Kat Lynch and many more more as players, coaches, umpires and water runners.

All proceeds from the day go directly to Reclink Australia – It promises to be a family-friendly fun day and while the Musicians Vs Media football match will be the main attraction, there will also be bands, food, and entertainment on offer throughout the day, as well as some very slack jaw commentary over the loud speakers which was a true highlight of last year’s event.

Though what Australian can turn their gaze away from the simmer tensions of an ultimate rivalry?
