Markets To Curate Your Best Christmas Gifts Yet!

Queens Theatre will once again be packed to the rafters as Gathered SA returns with two days of curated creative bliss.

For those of you in the creative know, with an endless list of people to buy for this Christmas, you will have been hanging out for the December edition of the wonderfully curated Gathered SA Markets. A mecca for South Australian style, fashion, crafts, foods and more held will return to The Queens Theatre in the city on December 3rd and 4th for back-to-back days of all the good things. Although we couldn’t recommend one stall over the another, we do have a few favourites to whet your whistle:

Betty T – LUXURY TEA BOUTIQUE

We get it, coffee is the ‘it girl’; the ‘miss socialite’ of hot beverages. But nothing beats a blend of earl grey tea and honey with some of mum’s Anzac biscuits on the side. Betty T is a luxury tea boutique that lovingly brings you unique tea blends, accessories and gift boxes. They use quality, organic tea combined with premium ingredients to deliver you the most special and unique tea experience.

Fat Mango – CLOTHING & ACCESSORIES

We couldn’t go past this number. Fat Mango‘s designs are hand-made, one-off pieces like this beautiful clutches that are the work of two local girls Rik & Em. Starting out in the backyard on crafty Sundays, the girls are now appearing at Gathered SA with a range of coin purses, jewellery, key rings and of course more individual pieces like this beauty.

Clay by Khoa

Mini planter and bonsai pots available for purchase next weekend @gatheredsa market.

We take full credit for singling these guys out. Ceramics make for absolutely astounding pieces of (practical) art. South Australian ceramic artist Khoa Edgecombe produces hand-made porcelain clay pots, mugs, teapots and tumblers (to mention just a few). Not only do they look amazing, but you can show them off at dinner parties, tea with friends or sitting quaint on the dining table with a perfectly potted bunch of flowers in a glazed vase. Versatile!

Little Terrariums – SUCCULENTS & TERRARIUMS

These beauties are so damn cute! If you’re looking for a little greenery to brighten the mood of your dull workspace or need some colours in the living room Little Terrariums will do just that. Succulents in concrete pots, geometric glass, and ko ke dame style in wool and as embroidery.

Daize Design – HANDMADE DECOR

Somewhat like our terrarium friends, these woven wall hangings are the perfect piece to make a bare wall flourish or for that reading corner that needs just a little bit more. Hand-made from soft yarns in a variety of textures and tones, each garland varies slightly to the next making it unique.

Blush & Co. – HANDCRAFTED JEWELLERY

Market ready… @aboutiquelife Market, St Joseph’s Grammar, Belair. 10am – 4pm. 💕

Since rose gold jewellery is in (because actually, it never left), Blush and Co. is all about the timeless pieces. Designed and crafted by local South Australia Jacquie Arnold, she creates necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings that use a blend of rose gold plated beads, mixed metals, Swarovski crystals, white Howlite beads and Czech glass pearls.

Applewood Distillery – GIN MERCHANTS

Lovin’ the vibe @hainsco #BlockParty! Come try our #ginandtonic with finger limes 😜👍🍸

This distillery in the pristine Adelaide Hills has already established a reputation for exquisitely flavoured spirits. Gin, Limoncello, Arancello that epitomise freshness, vibrancy and astringency. Is there anything that says Christmas more than booze?

And don’t forget if you can’t make it along to the Queen’s Theatre, Gathered SA also curate a wonderful stall of South Australian creatives at Westfield Marion, with new names every week showcasing their beautiful wares.

The Gathered SA Markets will open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th of December at Queens Theatre. Entry is a gold coin donation. For more details, and to spy more vendors, follow Gathered on Instagram or check their website.
