South Australia’s annual “festival of cool”, the 2018 CRUSH Festival promises to be the biggest yet, featuring every kind of party from beach-themed to Gelati-filled.
With over 30 wineries offering a host of sensory summer experiences that will have festival goers chilling in the hills, events will not only feature live music, but a whole bunch of art, theatre, mouthwatering food, and an abundance of wines.
Adelaide Hills Wine Region Chair Hamish Laurie said wineries and event organisers had created a program reflecting the fresh, youthful and fun personality of the region, while incorporating the Festival’s ‘Play it Cool’ theme.
“The white wines from the Adelaide Hills are cool and refreshing; we’re famous for our sparkling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and more recently Gruner Veltliner. Our fresh, contemporary wines, coupled with regional produce, first-class entertainment and a number of new themed parties makes CRUSH 2018 the perfect event for ringing in the summer festival season.” – Hamish Laurie
A stack of new events have been introduced to this year’s program, with some of the highlights including:
- Greenhill Wines – Mad Hatter’s Picnic
- Glen Ewin – The North Shore Beach Party in the Hills
- Scott & La Prova – Gelati Party
- Longview Vineyard – The Piece Project + Norman Jay MBE
Kicking off the weekend on Friday night Anderson Hill will host a ticketed Spanish Degustation Dinner, with a Spanish inspired degustation, designed to match their delightful cool climate wines, while you dance the night away under the sunset.
Greenhill Wines will explore the wonderful world of Alice In Wonderland on Saturday and Sunday, playing host to a ticketed event, that’s new to the Crush Festival this year – with a Drink Me punch and Eat Me picnic lunch, served with wine and live music.
For something a little more relaxed head to Scott & La Prova/Somerled for their Gelati Party, where you’re invited to wear your best gelati-coloured frock to play under their shady garden gums and indulge in their Southern Barbeque, Live A Little Gelato and Udder Delights cheese bar – which just sounds mouthwateringly awesome.
Visitors to CRUSH can purchase a souvenir Spiegelau glass at any general entry event and take it with them to other venues during the day. Entry to non-ticketed general events is free.
The Festival’s ticketed events require pre-booking due to their popularity and offer guests an opportunity to participate in exclusive wine and food experiences. Stay tuned for the full program and highlights reel.
