Local Music Revving Up Clipsal 500 Concerts

the-beardsMusic SA is pleased to announce that seven South Australian acts have been selected to open up for some of Australia and the world’s biggest bands at the Clipsal 500 Adelaide Concert Series this March.

Chosen through Music SA’s Bands on Track 2013 project – a partnership with the SA Motor Sport Board with support from Nova 91.9 and Mix 102.3 – the local acts to perform over three nights on the Clipsal 500 Concert Oval Stage are:

Friday March 1
Vents & Purpose – supporting Hilltop Hoods, Drapht, ILLY and Pez

Saturday March 2
Move to Strike & Heston Drop – supporting The Angels and Ian Moss

Sunday March 3
The Beards, Before The Aftermath & The Rules – supporting Kiss and Mötley Crüe

“On top of an already incredible line-up of headliners, concert-goers at this year’s Clipsal 500 Adelaide can now look forward to an awesome showcase of South Australian live music,” Daniel Randell, General Manager Music SA said today.

“The seven local acts we have chosen are all extremely talented, professional and totally deserving of this brilliant opportunity,” says Randell. “Not only do they score an amazing gig supporting some of the biggest names in music, but they get to perform to massive crowds on a huge stage with first-class production. It’s going to be an amazing weekend of live music across the board.”

More than 100 South Australian acts applied to be considered for this year’s Bands on Track showcase. More information on the project can be found at the www.bandsontrack.com.au website.
