Local And Interstate Restaurants Flock To Join Adelaide’s First Night Noodle Market

Some of Australia’s best Asian restaurants will be bringing an authentic hawker-style culinary experience to the heart of Adelaide from 24 September to 4 October for the state’s first Night Noodle Markets.

The Night Noodle Market, in conjunction with Australia’s largest food festival Good Food Month, and in association with OzAsia Festival, will bring together the best of Adelaide’s local Asian restaurants along with those well-known and much-loved from right across Australia.

Adelaide’s Festival Centre and Station Road Precinct will be spiced up by the gathering of local favourites including Madame Hanoi, Kopi & Kitchen, Mai Kitchen, The Satay Hut and Tammy’s Meat Rolls.

Some of Australia’s most popular Asian eateries have rushed to sign up for the inaugural Market and include Filipino barbecue merchants Hoy Pinoy, Japanese fusion street food vendor Everybody Loves Ramen, as well as N2 Extreme Gelato, the bar that uses liquid nitrogen to make gelato in front of your eyes!

Taking place over 11 glorious nights, the Adelaide’s Riverbank Precinct will be transformed into a fun festival atmosphere. With nightly entertainment on the stage, DJ’s and roving performers, the bars and themed seating areas from Coopers, Yalumba and Adelaide Casino will be popular to soak up the atmosphere.

Head of Food, Fairfax Events James Laing said that the OzAsia Festival is one of Adelaide’s most popular and celebrated festivals, and Good Food Month organisers are proud to be involved.

“We’re so pleased to be able to offer diners the delightful experience of wandering around and making the tough decision of which of the many delicious dishes they want to try,” Laing said.

“Eating everything from Thai green curry to Korean pork belly bao and Japanese Yakisoba to BBQ pork buns and ramen tacos, whilst sitting amongst the beautiful atmosphere the Night Noodle Markets offers is really something special and we can’t wait to see it come to life in Adelaide.”

Australia’s love for this festival is undisputed. In under a year, almost 1.5million Aussies ate, sipped and slurped their way through the Night Noodle Market events that have taken place in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Brisbane.

OzAsia Festival Director, Joseph Mitchell said that he is excited for the 2015 debut of the Adelaide Night Noodle Markets, which will add something special to an already amazing line up of events.

“In the 2015 program traditional arts genres will blur as dance, theatre, music, performance art and technology weave through a selection of works that showcase Asia in the 21st century,” Mitchell said.

“With the Night Noodle Markets adding to the OzAsia Festival line up, there’s even more reason to head out and see two or three shows on any night, wander through galleries, attend free talks, discover some secret performance events and then hang out with friends over the delicious food that will be on offer from local and interstate restaurants.”

Adelaidians and visitors are encouraged to #jointhefeast on social media by posting photos on Instagram of their best feast. The photos could be of a dumpling making venture, a picnic, a dinner party at home, a night at Noodles or anything in between. Two winning photos – shared using the #jointhefeast hashtag – will be picked by the Good Food Month team with the winners rewarded with a VIP night at Noodles.

The Night Noodle Markets will run from Monday to Friday from 5pm till late and on weekends the excitement will kick off from noon. Entry is free.

Key Festival dates include:
