Last Remaining Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Tickets Released For Sale Today

Around 250,000 remaining tickets for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) have today gone on sale to the general public on a first come, first served basis.

Around 250,000 remaining tickets for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) have today gone on sale to the general public on a first come, first served basis.

After a successful initial Ticket Request phase which saw hundreds of thousands of spectators snap-up tickets to GC2018, remaining tickets to more than 12 different sporting disciplines are now available to the general public through all official GC2018 sales channels.

Specific detail on the availability of tickets to each GC2018 competition session is able to be viewed online at
gc2018.com/tickets, with spectators urged to log on and check availability.

The process of purchasing tickets is simple, with spectators able to purchase tickets on the spot from the website on a first come, first served basis.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said organisers had been absolutely thrilled with the public response to the initial ticket request phase but the good news is there are still around 250,000 tickets available.

This means there is still great opportunity for everyone to experience the Games and witness this wonderful world class sporting event.

“There are still tickets available to a significant number of medal sessions and preliminary rounds featuring world class athletes.

“Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, so make sure you don’t miss out and only tickets purchased through official channels will be honoured at the event
,” Ms Palaszczuk said.

Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation (GOLDOC) Chairman, Peter Beattie AC said spectators can choose from a vast array of experiences.

“There are still plenty of tickets available across a range of different sports including Athletics, Rugby Sevens, Squash and Basketball preliminaries in Townsville and Cairns, as well as the Closing Ceremony” he said.

“Witness the fireworks and ferocity of the hockey at the Gold Coast Hockey Centre, marvel at the speed and skill on show at Oxenford Studios for the Boxing, Squash and Table Tennis or enjoy a smorgasbord of five different sports at the Carrara Sports Precinct including Athletics, Wrestling, Weightlifting, Para Powerlifting and Badminton.

“Specific detail on the availability of tickets to each session is able to viewed on the website so we urge people to log onto
gc2018.com/tickets and have a good look at what’s available and consider what they might like to see.

“Again, we urge people to make sure you only buy from official GC2018 ticket sales channels by checking
gc2018.com/tickets/how-to-buy,” Mr Beattie said.

GC2018 tickets include free public transport on event day within the South East Queensland TransLink public transport network, the Cairns TransLink bus network and on the Townsville qconnect bus network when a valid event ticket is presented.

From 4-15 April 2018, the Gold Coast will welcome 6,600 athletes and team officials from 70 nations and territories across the Commonwealth – representing more than one third of the world’s population.
