Kickstart Spring With A Makeover For A Great Cause

Sueno Hair are hosting a pampering fundraiser day to help disadvantaged and vulnerable South Australian kids.

Sueno Hair are set to give your Sunday Session expectations a make-over with a unique charity event that will benefit vulnerable and impoverished South Australian children.

On Sunday 17 September, the recently renovated, Sueno Hair Salon in Kensington Park will host its first Charity Sunday Session. From 10am customers will be treated to a day of luxury pampering and relaxation with $30 women’s blowdrys, $20 manicures, and a full male barber service in the new Men’s Den for just $30. All proceeds from the Charity Sunday Session, including a special silent auction, will go to the South Australian charity, Kickstart For Kids.

For those thinking about freshening up their winter locks with a brighter Spring style, Wella Professional Colour Technicians will be on hand throughout the day to offer free colour change consultations, a styling session using EIMI products, and specialized System Professional Energy code consultations.

Founded by Ian Steel AM, Kickstart For Kids provides vulnerable children from 300 schools across the state with breakfast, lunch, mentoring, crisis clothing, and healthcare. Each week 600 volunteers help Kickstart For Kids serve up 40,000 breakfasts and 10,000 lunches statewide.

Sueno Hair and Beauty owners Jim and Lea Kefalianos said the Charity Sunday Session will be filled with entertainment for all the family. A pop up beer and wine bar, food van and charcoal barbeque will provide delicious food and beverages for all tastes, while Adelaide’s famous Ukulele Death Squad and guest DJs will provide music and entertainment into the afternoon.

“We are so grateful to all the support and loyalty our customers have given to us over the last seven years so we wanted to give back to our community and what better charity than Kick Start for Kids which feeds and supports vulnerable kids in our community,” Lia said.

Jim and Lea, who met when they were both working at an Adelaide hair salon for 9 years, married in Greece before opening Sueno Hair in 2010. The salon fosters strong family values, as Jim’s grandpa’s uncle was a barber in Henley. When the opportunity arose last year to expand the salon to include a boutique men’s barber, Jim was humbled to honour his family history. Sueno currently employs 9 staff, including 5 senior hairdressers and 4 junior hairdressers.
