Race Season is upon us! And Glam Adelaide is diving straight in. This weekend Glam’s Hannah headed across to Kangaroo Island to judge the Fashion on the Fields competition.
Originally forecast as a stinking 39 degrees we were expecting a super hot one for the inaugural Kangaroo Island Cup this Sunday. In true South Australian style the weather completely changed it’s mind and presented us with rain, scorching sunshine and overcast skies all within an 8 hour period.
It certainly makes it hard to dress for but the Kangaroo Island ladies didn’t let this stop them. With some truly stunning outfits on display, the competition was stiff. Myself, face of the KI Cup Eran Boyd and Matt of Thoroughbred SA had some tough choices on our hands.
We were looking for the whole package; including clutch, millinery, shoes, dress, accessories, makeup AND a personality to match… and the ladies brought the goods.
After much deliberation the winner was finally announced at Jane Bowden wearing a stunning silver Carla Zampatti Dress and Fiona Powell millinery. Runner up was Nicole Fooks in a bright and summery lime green and hot pink combination.
But our favourite show stopper was Sally Morris who won best hat by Felicity Northeast Millinery and matched it with fabulously detailed shoes and clutch by Melissa Barnes Millinery.
We had an amazing time at Kangaroo Island Cup, sipping drinks from Coopers and Dudley Wines. It’s a beautiful part of our state to explore at any time of the year, but race season is extra special.
