One of the most anticipated tours of 2014, James Reyne plays Australian Crawl: The Crawl Files Live has now doubled in size, the initial six-date tour growing to 12 shows today with the addition of new shows in Penrith and Perth.
With Sydney’s The Enmore approaching a sell out – all seating has been snapped up and there are just a few standing tickets remaining – James will take the tour out west, heading to the renown Evans Theatre at Penrith Panthers for a one-off show on 14th August.
Western Australian fans have embraced the tour with gusto, ensuring the Astor Theatre is now officially a sell out. For a more traditional pub vibe, the tour now includes the very rock’n’roll venue, the Charles Hotel in Perth on Friday 22nd August.
James Reyne plays Australian Crawl: The Crawl Files Live is the closest thing fans will ever get to an Australian Crawl reunion, and James has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from fans. ‘It’s something I’ve been asked about constantly over the years, but I never expected it to take off to this degree. We’re going through the vaults now, digging out a few gems!’ He’s promising a no holds barred, full band, rock’n’ roll assault, performing the best from the Aussie Crawl songbook.
Back in January of this year, the Australian Crawl catalogue was released digitally for the first time, with ‘The Greatest Hits’ making it to number one on the itunes chart and number 4 on the ARIA Albums Chart. At one point, there were five Australian Crawl albums in the itunes top 100. In addition to this, James received an Order of Australia for his charitable work and services to Australian music and the arts.
