Is This The Most South Australian Dining Experience Ever?

All signs point to yes…

To say that we’re excited about the upcoming Tasting Australia event is probably a slight understatement. It has been on our radar since the program was first released and for so many delicious reasons… It really is the tastiest culinary event on the calendar and we can’t wait to delve mouth first into it all! And there is one feast in particular that has our foodie loving radar buzzing…

When Dougal McFuzzlebutt of McFuzzlebutt’s Manchen and Ray Dahdah from Out in The Paddock collaborate, you can be certain that the feast that will ensue will be all kinds of amazing. And their Floating Feast will be no exception.

More than a feast, this will be a nostalgic dining experience as you are spoilt with a delicious five course dinner onboard the iconic Popeye.

This progressive feast brings together premium South Australian food producers including Sam Worrall-Thompson from Kitchen & Catering by Sam, Ivan Tomic from The Roaming Spit and Daniela Mazzone of Chocolat by Daniela.

The menu has been carefully designed to showcase the best of our region with appreciation and innovation. It will include Saltbush Lamb from Richard Gunner and Schu-Am Pork. The feast will be complemented by luscious wine from Torbrek Wines and refreshing craft beer from Vale Brewing. Guests will also be given the opportunity to meet the producers, as they savour each course.

Inspired by South Australian landscapes and the beauty of our regional produce, Out in The Paddock are renowned for creating breathtaking experiences in picturesque surroundings (read more about them here). Alongside food photographer and consultant, Dougal McFuzzlebutt with expertise in the South Australian hospitality and events, this creative partnership will immerse the senses and take guests on a culinary journey.

Kicking off at Adelaide Rowing Club at 5:00pm for canapés and cleansing beverages, eager feasters will then make their way to Popeye himself for entrée, main and dessert. Upon returning from a trip down memory lane, guests will then enjoy Petit Fours and a final beverage at the Rowing Club.
