The Hood Sweeney Adelaide 36ers have learnt that back up big man Tom Garlepp will not be making the trip to Townsville to face the Crocodiles Wednesday night. Garlepp has been undergoing tests today for a suspected fractured foot and will under go a bone scan Tuesday to rule out stress fractures. Garlepp was brought into the permanent 36ers line up to replace injured star John Gilchrist. Garlepp said earlier today “it felt funny on Saturday then it was OK Sunday. I woke up this morning (Monday) at Five AM and was in a lot of pain. Now I can not put any weight on it.”
Darren Ng is now the only 36er to have made it through the season without injury. Yet, due to NBL rules the Hood Sweeney 36ers will travel to Townsville with only 9 players. Erik Burdon is unable to join the team due t a rule that disallows players joining a team within 7 games of the finals.
The game os virtually a must win for the 36ers to avoid collecting the club’s first ever wooden spoon.
