On Thursday, Glam attended the “Goodbye SAFM” rebranding of the iconic Adelaide radio station at Tenth and Gibson, filled with excited punters as hit107 was officiated as the newest FM station in Adelaide.

With the  announcement of a completely new brand including new breakfast show hosts Amos and Dani, there was an air of anticipation and hope as the former SAFM took a bold leap into the future to re-engage with its listener base.

With a who’s who of Adelaide media as well as other notables such as State Opposition Leader Steven Marshall, the invited guests were treated with some very welcome cold beverages of the alcoholic kind, some delish finger foods that kept on coming, and a taste of what to expect musically.

There was a lot of whispering as to what was to come, and finally the management team of SCA Adelaide took to the stage and spilled the beans on the new brand including the logo. Hit107 will stay on the 107.1FM frequency, and will be a more playful, social and colourful station with a focus on hottest hits.

The unveiling of the new breakfast show hosts, comedian Amos Gill from Adelaide and Dani Pola from WA (pictured below) will see the newcomers deliver their breakfast show between 6-9 a.m weekdays. The relatively young hosts exuded an air of youthful energy and look set to do well in Adelaide. They even worked the crowd afterwards and must have stopped to talk to every person present- a great way to get to know your audience indeed.

In possibly a symbolic representation of new beginnings, Hip Hop artist 360 was the featured act, and he dropped some fresh tracks much to the delight of the eager punters who were there to have fun.

SAFM Head of Content Mr Craig Bruce sees the change in direction as a fresh start and completely new way forward for the station.”It’s been really exciting to build a station from the ground up.Everything from our music features, our breakfast contests, our approach to news and information, the the and feel of our production and more. Hopefully we can shake Adelaide up and get people buzzing about the new hit107.”

The move by Southern Cross Austereo officially took place this morning (Monday the 20th) from 8 a.m and marks the end of SAFMs 34 year presence in Adelaide.
