Hilton Adelaide Appoints New General Manager

Hilton Hotels & Resorts has appointed Peer Norsell as general manager of Hilton Adelaide. Peer has been with Hilton for 13 years and has joined the team from Hilton Bandung (Indonesia), where he was the hotel’s opening general manager.

Ashley Spencer, vice president operations, Hilton Worldwide – Australasia said, “Peer’s experience in all facets of hotel operations will ensure Hilton Adelaide maintains its position as one of Adelaide's leading business, events and leisure hotels.”

Born in Denmark, Peer started his career in 1995 as a Maitre d’ for a variety of restaurants and hotels in Denmark. Moving to Australia in 1996, he worked as Restaurant Manager for Jordon’s International Seafood Restaurant in Darling Harbor. In 1999, Peer joined the team at Hilton On The Park Melbourne for two years, before relocating to the Middle East then Thailand in various operational positions.

Peer, who is excited about being back in Australia, commented – “to have the opportunity to lead the team at Hilton Adelaide, an icon in the local market is tremendous. I am looking forward to continuing to enhance Hilton Adelaide’s position in the events, business and leisure markets” he said.

Peer replaces Michael Schmitt who has left Adelaide to join the team at Hilton Hua Hin Resort & Spa in Thailand as general manager.

Joining Peer at Hilton Adelaide is new director of operations, Go Kondo. Joining the team from Hilton Tokyo, Go brings extensive operational experience to Hilton Adelaide.
