Henley Square Venue Launches K9 Menu For Your Pampered Pooch

Whether you own a Crows sweater for your dog, constantly snap photos of your fur baby for Facebook, or you just have a soft spot for your pup, you’re gonna want to read this.

Whether you own a Crows sweater for your dog, constantly snap photos of your fur baby for Facebook, or you just have a soft spot for your pup, you’re gonna want to read this.

There’s now a place where you can spend your afternoon watching the sun set after a walk along the beach, indulging in a glass of wine and cheese platter, while your furry friend tucks in to a $2 Peanut Butter Pup Cake. Yep, you heard it here first. Bacchus bar & restaurant in Henley Square now has K9 cuisine.

Or are you more an early morning person? Prefer to take advantage of the 8pm-10am leash free times on Henley Beach? Then check out the delicious breakfast menu at Bacchus and grab a coffee (hot tip, the lines are always much faster than next door at Cibo), and order your pooch a Nauti Dawg-Side Bacon or Pup Patty for only $3.

If the Poochini Veggie & Rice Combo ($5) leaves your drool machine needing a drink, no problem. All dishes come with a bowl of water and a Schmacko. There’s also homemade Bacchus Bites ($2), and the ideal take away item – the Bag of Bones (5 Schmacko treats for $2).

Even if you just want to stop in for a quick meal yourself, they have your entire entourage covered by offering bite size bones for dogs to occupy themselves so you won’t have to rush off because the dogs are restless.

And because they know everyone is an Instagram fiend, check in with a pic of yourself and your dog with the hashtag #barkatbacchus to score your pooch a free schmako!

The newly renovated outdoor area at Bacchus was part of the recent $8m Henley Square overhaul and is perfect for pups. It features bench seating that looks out over the ocean, plus there’s stacks of tables if you’d like to make yourself more at home and watch the world go by. There’s even a pup pad to keep your pooch comfy while you’re there.

The other huge news for Bacchus (and this will appeal to those without dogs too) is that an outdoor awning has been approved by council so there will be cover over their outdoor dinning area, with heating planned for the cooler months. Throw in a proposed outdoor fire pit (be still our beating hearts) and this place now ticks pretty much every box. Just brilliant.

Bacchus is open from midday Thursday and Friday, and from 8:30am on Saturday and Sunday.
