She came like a bolt out of nowhere recalls Brigette Mitchell of Adelaide’s Finesse Models. Standing in the crowd at Adelaide Fashion Festival Parades on Parade back in 2013, Brigette spotted a young woman with red hair. She couldn’t leave what she was doing to approach her, but her eye returned over and over to meet her gaze at the stage. There was something about her, and Brigette was intrigued.
Fast forward almost 4 years and that young woman, Adelaide’s Lily Nova, received a phone call at 2am on Tuesday. It was from Milan. They needed her to walk on Wednesday. So at 6am, she was on a plane, bound for Gucci.
Brigette Mitchell received an email at 2am on Monday 19th September and Lily was on a plane that day at 6am bound for Milan.
It’s honestly the sort of thing out of a Hollywood movie script, but this is not the first time Gucci have called upon Nova. This is in fact the fourth shows she’s walked for Gucci this year, which is quite incredible. Earlier this year she was also selected as one of the few female models to walk the June Gucci Mens Show SS17, February’s Fall/Winter Women’s Collection and in June she was also a part of the Gucci Cruise Show at Westminster Abbey, the first show ever to be held by the location.
