Opening in late May, Gondola Gondola, is a new to popular Peel Street, that brings a modern Asian twist with a paddock to plate philosophy and a great alternative to the speakeasy style bars popping up around the city.

Partners in business and in life, Annie Liang and Tuoi Trang have taken the leap into the hospitality industry to bring their cultural influences from China and Vietnam to the CBD.

Tuoi’s family farm in Virginia is the source of fresh produce for Gondola Gondola, ensuring the menu is seasonal and inventive.

Seksan Suntharaphai, star student of award winning chef Nu Suandokmai (Nu Thai / Golden Boy), takes the lead in the kitchen and brings with him 20 years of experience in Thailand and Australia. Seksan will cook a menu created in collaboration with Tuoi’s mum with a focus on Asian home-style comfort food.

Architectural and design young-gun (ex Gram Design Studio) Matiya Marovic has taken control of design and fit-out, creating the outdoor vibe of an Asian street-side and bringing it inside. Picture a curbside dining space up front and a bustling dining hall in the back with a timber clad bar separating the two spaces. It’s a comfortable place to dine, share and drink ‘til the wee hours.

Gondola Gondola celebrates informal yet stylish dining and is set to be a late-night destination for those with a taste for fresh, enjoyable drinks and delicious, plentiful food to share with friends.
