Gin Gods At Settlers Spirits Launch Yet Another Quirky Flavour

In more recent memory Settlers Spirits have gifted us some truly standout-flavoured gins. Not just like your regular infusions but reaaaal unique flavours. For example, you might remember last year’s groundbreaking G & Tea Breakfast Gin, made with Earl Grey tea)Adelaide Hills Blue Gum honey and fresh lemon. Or what about this year’s Pink Gin?!

Well in the lead up to World Gin Day on June 10, Settlers are raising the bar by launching a new gin infused with Yuzu.

The Yuzu is a small Japanese citrus fruit. It is a cornerstone in their culinary feats, as well as being widely embraced for it’s exotic and powerful flavour. It has distinct citrus notes that are reminiscent of tart mandarin, orange blossom and sweet lemon.

As Settlers’ producer Rowland Short puts it, Yuzu is “aromatically intoxicating” and doesn’t lose any of it’s true flavour even under extreme heat (making it perfect for distilling into our favourite beverage).

Rowland reckons that “on first looking at Yuzu it is a bit like the ugly duckling as it is full of seeds and holds little juice, but as you microscope this little gem the ugly duckling turns into a majestic swan”. And what a magical Japanese-inspired swan Yuzu Gin is!
