Aren’t we just so blessed with the amount of fabulous cafes popping up all over our city? We’ll tell you what though, it does make it tricky to visit them all! But we will give it a red hot go…
We just heard about amazing little café Melon & Rye opening in Glen Osmond TODAY. We haven’t been down to give it a whirl yet, but we’ve got our hot little hands on the menu and it’s now at the top of our list!
Andrea Oswald has owned Organic to Go for eight years now, providing the eastern suburbs with more delicious, healthy organic produce than you can poke a stick at! But just last year she decided she wanted to make a change and create a more modern, fresh sort of store… with a café attached. Hoorah.
Obviously Andrea has always had a passion for whole, healthy, clean living foods and wanted a cafe that reflected this. She has focused on supplying and using sustainable fresh produce.
Like the organic store that it used to be, it still caters for a lot of different varieties of food such as gluten free, lactose free, vegetarian, vegan, the health conscious and beyond!
And that continues into the menu that you will find at the cafe. If you ask us, the Broccoli, Feta and Mint Croquettes sound spectacular, but so do the Kale and Coriander Savoury Pancakes, and SO does the Breakfast Pizza (think we’ll save that one for hangover days.) But seriously, we want it all.
Now with the two separate parts you can devour your healthy (or not so healthy if you wish!) brunch or lunch, then grab your fresh foods and pantry fillers from the store. There are also protein powders, bulk foods and even environmentally conscious skin care products. Killing two birds with one stone, we love it.
So as we mentioned we haven’t locked our lips around this great little joint just yet. But we had to make sure we let y’all know, because we’re kind like that. Melon & Rye, we’re coming for ya.
