As heard on triple j. As seen on The Project and Q&A. 2015 Best Newcomer Nominee – Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

I saw Tom Ballard’s stand up show at the Fringe a few years ago and he turned me into a fan. I realised that I had unfairly judged him on his Triple J stint alone; his on-air persona seriously limited.

Now, 2 years after leaving his radio gig, Ballard brings The World Keeps Happening to the Fringe. He presents a snapshot of the depressing state of the world in 2016, and takes you on his path to improve the worst of it. His wit is sharp and his observations are spot on. He often nudges the boundaries of what is comfortable, pushing the audience through with a refreshing honesty and energy.

He addresses current issues in Australia from racism and marriage equality to politics and elitism. He suggested perhaps not recommending his show to your grandma, Liberals or rowers but I don’t think this is the case, except maybe for grandma.
