Zoe McDonald has FOMO – The Fear of Missing Out. Thankfully, she’s prepared to share it with you. A performance of her one woman, ten character show inside a studio of Radio Adelaide is a unique event filled with surprises, humour and awe.

Zoe McDonald is The Russian Doll’s Russian Doll. Her seamless character transitions were so fast, precise and convincing that, at the slightest change of mannerism, there was nothing to be done but to try and keep up. Do not blink; you will miss someone.

Maureen from security, with a very particular security protocol was a highlight, with a frightening amount of power over the almost alarmingly obedient audience. From the start, be prepared for anything, but I was relieved that McDonald is not going for the gag at all costs, and whilst audience interaction is encouraged, opting out is a request respected.

Among the cast of characters, meet Pamela (cat lady and Bogie/Bacall fan), Jill Sweeney (jealous co-host), Anita (with some revolutionary beauty advice), Dina (ladies, you will never feel so empowered), Jessica (that’s #fword right), and Sergio, my personal favourite ensuring forks and coconuts will never seem the same again.

McDonald utilises all the space made available to her (and possibly some that wasn’t!), and it’s easy to forget that live radio is broadcasting right along side her show. Back in our studio, Tanje Ruddick handled lighting and audio expertly.

Towards the end, we hear how Zoe’s friends and parents feel about her. Zoe’s Mother says she loves her and I concur, leaving only one remaining question; where can we purchase one of her cardboard cut-outs?

Find out what you get when you cross bedazzling with some lady-business, in this clever, acronym-tastic, delight from we-want-to-see-more-of-you-or-any-of-your-“friends”, one-woman powerhouse of a show. Catch FOMO from Zoe McDonald. Symptoms include incredulity, laughter, love and exhaustion. #Sensational.
