Adam Rozenbachs’ plan was to take his Dad, Tommy, to Europe for three weeks to explore his German heritage and see the sights. The plan was solid, but we all know about the best laid plans…

Rozenbachs presents as a pretty good guy. His relaxed style appealed to a small (comparative) crowd in the massive theatre, who quickly warmed as the tale began to unfold, intermixed with some punchy one-liners.

This show is funny, entertaining, and a little bit sad, but mostly just funny. The picture he painted of how Rozenbachs Snr knows best and is difficult to impress is the centre of most of the humour. Hearing from the man himself adds a clever layer.

The usher who insisted I sit closer to the stage does not have my thanks; the volume in front of the double speakers is uncomfortably loud. Maybe Rozenbachs’ Snr. thought his wife would be there (apparently they yell at each other, and not because they have difficulty hearing).

An aural problem aside, Adam Rozenbachs does a bang-up job of this stand-up show. Whilst I found his reference to notes distracting, he seemed to get away with it; the appreciative crowd laughed, nodded and nudged each other when his Dad’s eccentricities resonated with them.

If the adage that we all become our parents is true, Adam Rozenbachs has at least, with Eurodad, made it public record where he’s heading. Good luck with that.

In Rozenbachs’ own words, if you have ever had parents, you’ll relate. Find out why Harry Potter is only for children, which Rozenbachs loves hinges, and if London has good water pressure.

Good show Rozenbachs Snr. and Jnr.? My word.
