Festival newcomer Penny Greenhalgh is showing off her spirited and semi-absurd comedy stylings with her debut solo show, POP POP. A hot mess of sketch, stand-up and ice dancing, it’s been tipped by experts* to be nothing short of Mega-Mad-Lolz-100%.

Graduate of prestigious French clown school, Ecole Philippe Gaulier, Penny is no stranger to performing. She has appeared on the ABCs Hungry Beast, Wednesday Night Fever, The Hamster Wheel, and is a regular cast-member on The Checkout. Her brilliant eye for observation and razor sharp instincts for comedy caught the attention of The Chaser guys who snapped her up as part of the stable of comedians managed by their company.

Giant Dwarf is debuting in the festival alongside Penny, presenting shows at the Adelaide Fringe for the first time. Having only been open for 12 months, Giant Dwarf, the award-winning Redfern comedy theatre run by The Chaser, has quickly become a hotspot for Sydney’s best emerging talent. Producing festival shows is the logical next step for the Newspaper/TV/Theatre/Management Company who wish to fail in yet another artistic venture they know nothing about.

Expect one fancy pair of pants, minimum.
