Flu vaccine now more readily available

The vaccine will be administered by an accredited nurse immuniser during set time periods at 200 Chemmart® Pharmacies nationally.

Chemmart® Casey Central Pharmacist, Carolyn Wynen said she hopes that by offering the service as a one-stop-visit, more people might get vaccinated.

“We hope that by making the vaccine more readily available, Australians will be encouraged to help limit the spread of influenza viruses by getting immunised,” she said.

The Department of Health and Ageing confirms that the best protection against flu you can afford yourself and others, is to get vaccinated.

According to its website, flu viruses can spread easily as they can survive for up to two days on some hard surfaces, 30 minutes on unwashed hands and for up to 12 hours on cloth, paper and tissues.*

Ms Wynen said that the best thing about the Chemmart Flu Clinic is that it simplifies the whole process.

“The vaccination requires one appointment and takes no more than 20 minutes,” she said.

Customers can book online or on their smart phone from today at www.chemmart.com.au or by calling their local Chemmart® Pharmacy.

Because availability is limited, it is essential to make an appointment during the times outlined at your local participating Chemmart® Pharmacy.

For more information and details on costs, please go to www.chemmart.com.au or visit your local Chemmart pharmacist.
