A bid to break a Guinness World Record of more thank 3000 canoes or kayaks on the water at the same time will take place at this weekend’s FloatFest in Mannum.

A bid to break a Guinness World Record of more thank 3000 canoes or kayaks on the water at the same time will take place at this weekend’s FloatFest in Mannum.

The annual two-day festival starts on Saturday, April 30 and is expected to attract more than 3500 people.

The FloastFest program includes market stalls, houseboat displays, face-painting and demonstrations and tours with canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and dragon boats.

A short course and long course canoe race will also take place as part of the festival.

FloatFest is in its third year with approximately 70 per cent of people travelling from intrastate.

The theme of this year’s event is water safety and the environment.
