Fire Up The Barbie: The Glam Guide To All Things Australia Day 2016

Get the BBQ fired up and the stubby holder ready, Australia Day is on its way!

Australians all let us rejoice because it is almost Australia Day! We think that it is one of the best days of the year, and not just because it means a public holiday and a day off work (for most). There is something very patriotic and heartwarming about celebrating all things Australian. And there really are a lot of amazing things to celebrate. Plus, if there is one thing that Australians totally kick butt at, it is celebrating! From amazing BBQs, firework displays, concerts, cricket and even tuna tossing (yep…) we have the lowdown on what’s happening this Australia Day around town:

Artwine Estate – Awesome views of Adelaide’s rolling hills and vineyards? Check. Amazing food? Check. Stunning wines. Big check! Artwine Estate is always the perfect spot but it becomes even better when you get to enjoy it on a Public Holiday. This Australia Day they will be open and serving up some delicious share platters full of local produce that you can enjoy along with some of their beautiful wines. Sounds perfect.

Australia Day at the Bay – Enjoy Australia Day by the beach as Glenelg puts on a family friendly day of fun. Join in welcoming and celebrating new citizens with a special citizenship ceremony before more fun begins. The foreshore will come alive with live music, games, sports and other activities.

Australia Day in the City – This has to be the biggest event on Australia Day. Elder Park becomes a sea of 40,000+ people. From the street parade, a special Kaurna Welcome, a concert featuring superstar Samantha Jade and, of course, the fireworks, this is a family friendly event that seems to grow bigger every year.

Bar Torino – Bar Torino do stunning Spanish tapas style food, but for Aussie Day they will be serving up a limited edition Aussie menu for the day. We want in! With Aussie froths and triple J’s Hottest 100 playing all day, these guys have it sorted.

Bird in Hand Winery – Not that we ever need an excuse to head to one of the most beautiful wineries in the world, but a public holiday sure helps… If you are looking for something to do on Australia Day, Bird in Hand won’t disappoint. You can relax among the stunning vineyard views, with a drink in hand, and maybe a little something, something from their new Small Eats Menu.
