‘Fashions Off The Track’ Makes Its Debut At Royal Adelaide Show

Fashion on the field like you’ve never seen it before.

Giddy up! The Royal Adelaide Show is about to make your race day dreams come true tomorrow with their new ‘Fashions off the Track’ event, and Glam Adelaide will be there front and centre as a guest judge.

Kicking off at 8:30am, ‘Fashions off the Track’ combines glamorous fashion and thoroughbred horses to present an event like no other. Thirteen entrants will take to the arena with a beautiful (matching) thoroughbred horse to show off their best Spring Racing Carnival outfits. Basically, it’s like Fashion on the Fields but WITH horses.

Entrants will be judged on their style, originality and appropriateness of their outfits for the Spring Racing Carnival season. Generally speaking, entrants are the horse owners or handlers. This event helps support the Horses-In-Action program, giving retired racehorses a life after racing.

Still need a little more incentive come along?

The Emirates Melbourne Cup Tour will also be visiting the show on the same day, giving the Adelaide community a chance to experience the magic of the iconic $200,000 Emirates Melbourne Cup trophy up close and personal before it heads off to Murray Bridge and then onto Flemington Racecourse.

The Victoria Racing Club/Flemington Racecourse is currently running a competition for those who take a photo with the Melbourne Cup. All you have to do is upload it as a public post to Facebook with the hashtags #EmiratesMelbourneCup and #PeoplesCup to go in the running to win a trip for two to this year’s Melbourne Cup!
