BGANZ 2017 Congress

October 22 @ 1:00 pm - October 25 @ 11:30 pm

We warmly invite you to attend the 8th Botanic Gardens Australia and New Zealand Bganz Congress, presented by Seasol, to be held at the National Wine Centre in Adelaide, SA, from 22-25 October 2017. The world-class program will feature international speakers who will highlight the key role that botanic gardens in Australia and New Zealand play to enhance and protect our environments.

Botanic Gardens of South Australia will host the Congress and hope all BGANZ Members and non-Members can attend.

The theme for the 8th BGANZ Congress is, ‘Preservation: Exploring and Adapting’.

The theme underlines the need for adaptation of botanic gardens in their ongoing environment and the ever changing attitudes of the community.

This covers both the natural, cultivated and political environment and the required strategies to ensure the preservation of endangered species can continue.

How do we ensure proper connection with the public and their engagement? How do we inspire younger generations, friends and volunteers to gain their vital support which is an integral part of all botanic gardens? How do we safeguard our commitment to botany, science and conservation, horticulture and internal and external education?
