Motivational Workout Tips To Get you Through Winter 2015

Aussies aren’t the best with the cold, and with these dark mornings and evenings a warm bed or couch can be very tempting instead of a workout – so we’ve put together some tips to help you stay on track!

Aussies aren’t the best with the cold, and with these dark mornings and evenings a warm bed or couch can be very tempting instead of a workout!  We also say we’ll get out to the gym or workout at lunch but never quite make it… due to work stress and desk-lunches (and pretty much any other excuse we can think of).

To get you back into the swing of fitness during winter we’ve put together some thought starters that might bring on some inspiration:

I’m too hungry to exercise, I won’t be able to concentrate…

Time your meals, between one to two hours before working out, have a carb-packed snack and afterwards make sure you fill up on a healthy meal so you’re able to get through the afternoon of work. Timing your meals the night before or before leaving for work, will get you prepared so you know you will be working out, which will help actually go through with it.

I’m always rushing in the morning and haven’t got time to pack my bag…

Organise your bag the night before so all you have to do, is pick it up on the way out the door.

Using the right gear…

The Nike Free Flyknit TR (pictured) are super lightweight making them perfect for throwing in the work bag. Having sexy workout gear always makes for a more motivated workout! If you feel like you look good then you will want to push yourself to workout!

Train with a friend…

Having someone else to motivate you is always a great way to stay on track! Also, they can give you the much needed guilt trip if you cancel your workout!

Pick the right playlist…

There’s nothing like good tunes to make your workouts more motivating (and feel shorter!) There are plenty of already out together ‘workout’ playlists so have a look around and see what you can find. Something with a lot of energy and beat will get your heart rate pumping as you smash the pavement or the treadmill!

Mix up your routine…

With free apps like the Nike NT-C app, you’ll never be short of new and challenging workouts. The old excuse of ‘exercise is boring and always the same’ can never be used again! You can continually mix it up and try new things. Not only is this great as it keeps you interested but it is actually ideal for your body! Changing up your routine every so often surprises your body into using new muscles and you will definitely see a difference!

So, with all of these little tips, you really don’t have any excuses anymore (sorry)! You could even start this weekend!
