Discovery Holiday Parks Clare will host a weekend of great local food, wine, music and traditional Aussie pastimes over the ANZAC Day weekend – and to commemorate the birth of the ANZAC tradition of camaraderie, all events, many free of charge, will be open to park guests and the public.
The program takes into account the importance of the Dawn Services across Clare and will kick off in the late morning of ANZAC Day, Saturday April 25, with an ‘everyone’s invited’ free bacon and eggs breakfast in the expansive and wooded grounds of the park at 11.00am.
It celebrates everything Australian, with regular games of two-up sprinkled across the weekend that includes a Saturday evening fundraiser sausage sizzle that sees all proceeds going to the local Clare RSL.
There will also be Saturday afternoon tastings of some of the award-winning local wines for which the Clare Valley is famous.
Sunday activity gets underway at 11.00am with a local produce festival – featuring a selection of the best local food, beer and wine that epitomises the tastes of the Clare Valley – that runs until 4.00pm and has local SA bands providing an excellent selection of music for festivalgoers.
Blues and jazz band, Jazzbuz, will be first up performing some of the genre’s most recognised and appreciated numbers from 12.00 noon to 1.00pm, after which Zkye & the Guyz will take the tempo up a notch or two while playing a selection of soft rock classics.
Both the Saturday and Sunday close with a Sunset Outdoor Movie for park guests.
