A secret location, a dress code “head to toe in white” and a feast of delicious food with matching premium wines – have we got your attention yet? It’s time for Le Diner en Blanc again and like previous events, this one will be just as elegant, sophisticated and magical. For the fourth year in a row, Adelaide is hosting this glamorous event on December 3rd in an undisclosed location.
Launched in Paris in 1988 by Francois Pasquier and a few friends, Le Diner en Blanc has become a worldwide epicurean phenomenon. The Paris event now attracts over 10,000 people each year. Meanwhile in Adelaide the number of diners attending continues to grow exceeding all expectations. Last year the sold out event hosted 1400 foodies and this year 1700 tickets are up for grabs.
Like the title suggests, white is the theme for absolutely everything; from the dress code to the picnic setting. Visit your local Mall if you need help finding the right outfit or table settings. All guests must bring a picnic basket, white chairs and a white tablecloth.
The Haus catering has made life a little simpler with picnic baskets available for purchase. The $80.00 baskets hold 5 courses for two people packed with fine foods such as dips, pate, gourmet chicken breast, grain fed steak and so much more from the Adelaide Hills. A vegetarian hamper is also available. The picnic baskets can be reserved via the Diner en Blanc e-store and collected on the day. Guests can bring their own non-alcoholic beverages. Beer and hard liquor are prohibited but you can pre-purchase bottles of Tomich Wines also via the online Diner en Blanc e-store.
Registration happens in three stages – firstly on October 27th for members who attended last year, then on November 3rd for new members referred by previous members while everyone else must go on a waiting list via the official website adelaide.dinerenblanc.info/register which opens on November 8th.
