On the eve of the Santos Tour Down Under, celebrated Olympic cyclist Stuart O’Grady launched Stuart O’Grady Cycling – his new venture that offers services that will enable customers to have a closer relationship with the elite level of cycling.

Stuart said that he has focused on the premium end of the market for both the training and lifestyle areas of his business.

“In regards to the training aspects of my business, it was important for me to secure the brands I believe are the best in the world to enhance a cyclist’s experience.

“I am delighted to announce that I have the exclusive rights to sell Scappa bikes nationally, and am the only distributor in SA to sell INFOCRANKS and use the BioBike technology to offer the ultimate custom fit,” he said.

These products will be joined by a one on one coaching program later in the year whereby cycling enthusiasts can learn from the Olympian to take their cycling to the next level.

In the same vein, the lifestyle aspect of the new venture offers a perfect link between training and cycling experiences that will stay with you for life.

“These cycling experiences will be handcrafted to provide unforgettable moments.

“We have three key areas to this part of the business – custom built tours for small groups anywhere in Australia, packaged tours around events like the TDU 2016 and one off experiences like our sold out SHUT UP LEGS dinner next Thursday with Jens Voigt.

“I want to give people access to the elite side of the sport through these tours – things like a ride in a team car, tickets to exclusive events with champions like Jens Voigt. We are working on the Paris- Roubaix tour at the moment whereby I will host a tour locally on a similar terrain followed by a lunch at a great restaurant to watch the race, special comments and insights by me live,” he said.

The business was launched with full support from the professional cycling fraternity at a VIP event at the newly opened 2KW bar and restaurant last week.

“I’m overwhelmed with the support of past colleagues, media and fans in support of my new venture – it’s been terrific as well as humbling,” he said.

These businesses will roll out over the coming weeks and months to coincide with the recent announcement of the Velo Precinct at Victoria Park, Adelaide. The cycling hub will include a cycling and coaching centre, cafe and kids zone.
