That’s right, the culinary British God Jamie Oliver graced our humble city with his presence today and many were none the wiser.
Oliver is infamous for not being well… infamous. He is widely noted for not attending the openings of his many restaurants, as he believes the emphasis should be on the quality of the restaurant and staff, not on his presence.
This is also probably why his whirlwind trip today was kept so under wraps.
He spoke highly of his Adelaide as a whole and his Jamie’s Italian Adelaide team on both Twitter and Instagram posting “ Todays #recipeoftheday coming from Adelaide or Radelaide as I just heard.” And “I love my team at Jamie’s italian Adelaide such loverly smiley professional people to say I’m proud is an understatement”
Feel the celebrity love Adelaidians. Why thank you sir Jamie. We love you too.
This afternoon Jamie is set to visit his other Adelaide business, the pop up cooking school ‘Ministry of Food’ in Colonnades, where it is hoped he will announce the longevity of the program.
This afternoon he will jet to Sydney for a series of ticketed ‘Food Revolution’ shows. Jamie’s focus took to dabbling in minor politics when he began his Food Revolution journey to overhaul the poor meals in the English schooling system. He is now bringing his revolution to our shores, and we welcome it with open arms.
We hope this is the first of many visits for Mr. Oliver, but there’s no guarantees as of yet. We’ll keep you posted.
