It seems that Bird In Hand simply have the golden touch, taking home four trophies at the 16th International Cool Climate Wine Show, including the esteemed Champions Trophy.

It seems that Bird In Hand simply have the golden touch. The Adelaide Hills based winery has just been awarded four trophies at the 16th International Cool Climate Wine Show, including the esteemed Champions Trophy for their 2012 Nest Egg Chardonnay. Cue the Rocky soundtrack, we have a legend in our midst!

Bird In Hand’s 2012 Nest Egg Chardonnay took out three titles, including ‘Best Wine of Show’, ‘Best White Wine of Show’ and ‘Best Chardonnay of Show’, while the 2014 Bird In Hand Montepulciano was awarded ‘Best Other Dry Red Wine’.

It’s news to the ears of Founder/Director Andrew Nugent. “I am very proud of the many achievements of our incredibly hardworking team. Given their dedication and commitment, it is no surprise that Bird in Hand wines sit at the very top echelon of world opinion. The continuous stream of endorsement, through awards and from winemaking peers, is testimony to their unwavering belief and relentless pursuit of excellence,” he said.

The International Cool Climate Wine Show held on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula is recognised internationally as Australia’s foremost show for cool climate wines. It attracts 600 entries from around the world each year and is judged by an expert panel, including two Masters of Wine Meg Brodtmann and Alison Eisermann.
