Creativity Is The Heart Of A Revived Oxford Hotel

With a new owners, bringing an obvious love of art, expression and creativity in all forms, O’Connell Street icon The Oxford Hotel has revealed a new vitality.

Vibrancy and flair are not the only things that the new owners of The Oxford Hotel have brought to the table in recent renovations.

Walking into the Oxford post relaunch, the first thing you’ll notice is the immense collection of art, quite literally everywhere. New Owners Grant and Anastasia have a deep love of art, expression, live music and creativity in all forms, and are sharing this liberally. The soft lighting and genuinely cozy feel provided by their mismatched tables and chairs throughout make you feel at ease the moment you step in the door. A labyrinth of nooks and crannies to hide away in, along with some large open spaces ensures that there is a space for every type of occasion. Whether you are on an intimate night out or a rambunctious party crew, there is a place for you. Up the rustic staircase brings you to the intimate private function area, including it’s own bar set against the old world touches which are ubiquitous throughout the venue.

The passion for the new vision of the Oxford is palpable. Their new and improved menu complements the refreshed decor by providing timely options such as new vegetarian dishes like the beautiful Wild Mushroom Fettucini, but also by taking the traditional pub grub up a very tasty notch with Butter Poached Chicken Breast and Crispy Skin Port Lincoln Kingfish to name just a few. New Head Chef Symon Conway-Lyden, is reflecting the artistic energy and passion injected by the owner’s vision, moving towards a more organic and sustainable approach, creating a diverse range of meals to tantalise all taste buds.

Alongside the new look and feel the Oxford will be introducing some exciting initiatives in the coming weeks including ‘ArtSmash,’ live music from local acts that are true artists, and wine tastings.

New owners Grant and Anastasia Murray have made a clear statement of intent from the get go. “We value good food, good art and good company, and our goal is to bring this together in one incredible space. We want the Oxford Hotel to make a statement, ignite the imagination, provoke thought and inspire the soul,” says Murray. It’s been something long overdue in the heart of O’Connell Street.

For eons, the Oxford has been a North Adelaide institution and this inspired reimagining will ensure it remains that way.
