Craft Breweries Changing Nation’s Drinks Market

The growing popularity of Australia’s craft beer and cider market is changing the services offered by the nation’s hotels, restaurants and clubs.

beerA sunny Sunday afternoon with a cider in hand has become a favoured tradition among many Australians.

Little did we know, that this habit and the growing popularity of Australia’s craft beer and cider market is actually changing the services offered by the nation’s hotels, restaurants and clubs.

Adelaide based drinks dispensing equipment manufacturer and supplier, Hoshizaki Lancer, has found that outlets with limited, mainstream beers are struggling against multi-tap venues which offer craft, imported beers and ciders, causing a shift in what is offered at our local pub.

Hoshizaki Lancer’s Managing Director Mr Joe Thorp said many hotels and clubs are now installing beverage systems with banks of as many as 15 to 20 taps.

“In the past 12 to 18 months, we have been installing larger and larger dispensing systems to meet the demand of our customer,” he said.

“While some taps are devoted to the well-loved high volume brands, more are being used for premium craft and imported beers.

“The growing cider market is adding a further layer of complexity, with draught cider adding to the mix and competing for available tap space.”

The company has installed more than 1000 new beverage dispensing systems across Australia in the past 12 months.

So drink up Australia, craft beer and cider is here to stay!
