Long has the Clipsal 500 Saturday evening been dominated by the Hutt Street Party but this year the event organisers promise it to be ‘BIGGER and BETTER than ever!’

The General Havelock Hotel will close Hutt Street from Angus St (North) down to Halifax St (South) for a party anticipated to attract 3000-3500 people. The street party will commence at 5pm on Saturday February 28th 2015.

1000 confirmed guests of Schneider and Clipsal will take advantage of the new and uniquely decorated ‘Clipsal Garden’ over 300 m2. General Havelock function coordinator, Donna Lester, describes her vision for this area of distinguished guests

‘Clipsal have been a long time supporter of this event and we always seek to surprise and excite them with a totally unique experience.

Our Coopers Garden this year will be themed around a outdoor ‘Gatsby-esque’ garden- featuring festoon lighting, white umbrellas, picket fencing, synthetic grass flooring, cocktail flaring and a ‘chillout’ bean bag area.’

Entertainment on the huge Hutt Street Stage includes the Official SA Heat of the ‘Miss V8 Supercars Model Search’. This competition attracts competitors from across the state that vie for the chance to win $25,000 in cash and a chance to compete in the Australian titles in the Gold Coast in mid 2015.

Last years local heats produced the National Winner in Stella Badenoch (see image below). Stella took out the National title of ‘Miss V8 Supercars’ at a presentation in July 2014 held in the Gold Coast.

Stella will be appearing at the General Havelock Hotel during the heats to mingle with guests and cast an eye across the 2015 competitors!

Hutt Street will feature a delicious array of food and beverage options from iconic Italian restaurant Zecca. A sea of red check tablecloths and café tables and chairs will take up over one hundred square metres of the street.

Ever popular spiced rum brand ‘Sailor Jerry’ will provide free haircuts and giveaways from their airstream caravan.

Musical Entertainment will be provided on the Hutt Street Stage from local party bands ‘Dirty Harry’ and ‘Triple X’.

Havelock Hotel General Manager, Scott Quick, is particularly excited about this years party-

‘Traditionally the Hutt Street Party has been a highlight of the Clipsal weekends calendar but this year we are getting behind the event on a whole new level. Our major sponsor Coopers has been working closely with us to put together an event that outdoes anything we have done in the last 15 years.

The event itself is particularly important for the Hutt St precinct as we compete with activity from Fringe events and the continual opening of small bars.

This is our opportunity to show the people of Adelaide what this vibrant city pocket has on offer!’

In the wake of a wave of recent hotel closures the Havelock Hotel remains strong and has build a fantastic name around consistently good food, bar service and function capabilities. The Havelock recently launched its premier upstairs event area aptly called ‘The Balcony’ in October 2014.
