Coopers Brewery launched its special edition 2015 Extra Strong Vintage Ale at Pirie and Co in Adelaide on Tuesday 7 July.

Walking down the stairs at Pirie & Co, entering a dark and shimmering lit room, it was impossible not to become entranced and ready to try the new Coopers brew.

It was easy to be immersed and admire all the work the Coopers family have put into releasing this great new ale. The unique 2015 Extra Strong Vintage provides a source of inner warmth to get you through the wintery season.

This year’s Coopers Vintage has a noticeably higher bitterness, which stands up well as the beer matures like a fine wine cellared over the years.

Coopers Set Up

The set up had a dark and mysterious feel…

We started off the afternoon with chicken tenderloins lightly poached in Coopers Clear, with sweet confit cherry tomatoes, charred asparagus, beetroot jelly cubes, a morsel of goats curd and dressed bitter leaves.

The Pirie & Co team then prepared a charred Wagyu scotch fillet, served with roasted heirloom carrots and smashed kipfler potatoes. The hero of this dish however, was the Coopers Sparkling beef jus, which was drizzled over the Wagyu…. We just wanted more and more! The Wagyu was matched with the current Coopers 2015 Vintage Ale. Staff poured the Coopers 2015 Vintage Ale, which coated the rim of the glass with a glowing, rich, ruby hue and generous fluffy foam cloud…. heaven on earth!

Vintage Coopers

What we were all there for, the Vintage!

Dessert was the perfect end to the meal, a rich chocolate French tart, sweet honey mascarpone and a crisp wafer infused with Coopers Stout.

The philosophy of the faithful Coopers Ale yeast derives back generations from 1910. A touch of spice, floral and fruity undertones, combined with the inherent bitterness, makes the perfect recipe for Coopers 2015 Vintage Ale….a must for beer connoisseurs. Buy a carton and enjoy it while the flavours are fresh, or hide it away in the cellar if you would prefer to enjoy the maturing process like a fine wine.

Mmm……Beer!
