Clipsal 500: Hot in the city tonight

It was hot on and off the track at Adelaide’s city street circuit for the Clipsal 500.

As eventual Race 1 winner Shane Van Gisbergen battled it out with the super cool, by name at least, Fabian Coulthard and James Courtney at the front of the pack, the punters around the Adelaide street circuit found plentyof ways to keep their cool.

Mist fans, big hats and ice cold beer was the order of the day for those trackside.

Italian visitor Ricardo Avellino did a poor job of avoiding the heat when caught in the grips of Aussie Babes models Charlene and Tara, but lads Harry and Benjamin were super cool at the Hot Wheels sideshow.

Young motocross stars in the making provided plenty of entertainment – for all the wrong reasons – at the Honda mini bike ride as they attempted to emulate Dakar Champ Toby Price, who drove to 2nd in the Stadium Supertrucks race despite still recovering from a broken leg.

And even with the temperature to hit a more comfortable 27 degrees for Sunday’s racing, it is still appropriate to point out the many ways to stay cool.
