South Australian based franchise, Cibo Espresso, has taken out the gold medal for best overall milk based and espresso coffee in the Coffee Chain category at the CSR Golden Bean challenge over the weekend.
Cibo Espresso took part in the challenge for the first time this year. The category for best Coffee Chain included an intimidating pool of 68 competitors from all over Australia, including Cafenatics, Mrs Fields and Gloria Jeans.
The prize adds to the number accolades Cibo Espresso has been awarded this year, including the most recent success at the South Australian Barista Championships where Cibo Espresso barista Jonny Pisanelli took out first place in the competition. He will face Australia’s finest baristas at the AASCA Australian Barista Championships in May 2012.
Founded in 2000, CIBO Espresso has forged a niche in South Australia’s café culture. There are 17 stores in South Australia and 2 in Brisbane. It is one of the most successful franchise brands to come out of this State.
