Award-winning Adelaide Hills’ cheese king and queen Saul and Sheree Sullivan could soon be adding another accolade to their impressive string of honours after being nominated as regional finalists in the 2015 Australian EY Entrepreneur of the Year awards.

The husband and wife team behind leading artisan cheese company, Udder Delights, join 17 other successful entrepreneurs from the central region of SA and the NT and will team up with 82 other talented entrants from across the country vying for what is widely regarded as Australia’s most prestigious business crown.

All nominees are recognised for their courage and conviction in making their business dreams a reality and, in the process, helping to build a better working world by creating new jobs, driving innovation and productivity, boosting the economy and inspiring others.

“We’re absolutely honoured to have made the shortlist of an award that recognises those who’ve displayed these entrepreneurial traits,” Ms Sullivan said.

“We’re often viewed as foodies and innovative cheese makers – however this passion has to be backed up with business acumen to ensure we keep our enterprise viable, our staff employed and our dairy farmers in business.

“It feels like we live in a constant state of risk taking – and I must admit, it’s a feeling you get familiar with. Resilience kicks in, as well as the ability to try again when you make a mistake the first time. I know we have a bit of crazy in us – life is certainly interesting.

“We’re really looking forward to the judging reception in June and the gala awards in July – regardless of the outcome we know how much fun it’s going to be partying with all of the other like minded finalists”

Udder Delights and the other nominees will contend for regional honours at the Central Region award ceremony on July 16, with regional category winners going on to compete at the national awards ceremony in Sydney in October. The overall Australian winner will then continue on in the global program, travelling to Monte Carlo in June 2016 to compete against other national winners from more than 60 countries for the chance to be crowned the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year.
